Dog food and treats are food items made only for consumption for dogs. There are number of dog food and treats available in market that comes in a variety of sizes and shapes but one should be quite attentive while selecting the right one for his dog because this decision directly impacts your dog’s health.

Types of Dog Food & Treats – The various types of dog food and treat are described as below:   

o Wet Dog Food – These are the most favorite sort of dog food. These are also referred as canned food. As the name implies they are higher in moisture content that dry or semi moist dog foods. These are sterilized foods.

o Frozen Dog Food – These always come in cooked or raw form. These are processed foods. This causes less destruction of the nutritional integrity.

o Refrigerated Dog Food – These are made by pasteurization if fresh food materials, and are lightly cooked first and then sealed quickly in a vacuum package.

o Vegetarian Dog Food – These are special sort of dog foods that include vegetables, fruits and fish also. The major ingredients include oatmeal, potatoes and pea protein instead of meat.

o Home Made Dog Food – This type of dog food come in a Tupperware like package or in a bucket. It generally includes some form of cooked meat or raw meat.

o Dehydrated Dog Food – These also come in raw as well as cooked form. Products are usually air dried to reduce moisture to the level where bacterial growths are inhibited.
